Parking brake key assign xplanes 111/28/2024 Not sure I'm any closer to understanding what the root problem is, but maybe the AVSIM braintrust can offer some suggestions. Didn't see any problems with overlapping assignments. I'm trying to figure out what this means, but am enjoying flight again! Prior to this I'd disconnected all my peripherals one-at-time with no positive effect and I checked for duplicate assignments with the wheel brakes and parking brake. Although I now no longer have brakes (not sure why), I've been able to take 15 flights with no problem in taking off or getting the plane to taxi after coming to a full stop! Before this my plane wouldn't budge 9 out of 10 attempts. Based on what I read In another group, I removed the bindings for my left and right brakes AXIS and changed them to left and right brakes (NOT the axis). The parking brake keeps the aircraft stationary for extended. Made a bit of progress in my issue of planes not moving down the runway after application of full throttle. To simulate this, assign the brake toe-tipping motion of each individual. You can map the button to 'toggle' or to 'hold brakes'. 2.) The 'general brake' can be mapped to a button or key and will either apply maximum braking (1.0) or regular braking (0.5) to all wheels. Not great for tight turns, but it stops me. 1.) The toe brake axis will gradually apply braking per wheel (left/right) when assigned to a hardware axis. I currently use my parking brake as my brakes by mapping it to a button on my yoke. Some have said to use 'toggle brakes max', but I want to use both positions of the switch - up for on and down for off, and that doesn't sound like it will work with a toggle command. I've cross-posted it below in case you didn't see it. I want to assign one of the buttons on the Bravo throttle, but when I scroll through the myriad commands in settings, there is no 'parking brake' at all. Use the 'Settings' screen, and find the brake assignments by typing 'left brake' and 'right brake' ( one at a time without the quotation marks) in the search bar above the action descriptions. By the way in X-Plane there are only brakes, left and right. If the hold functions are staying active after the button is released that is another bug. T.Flight HOTAS One (Forums) Aero Vodochody L Series (39, 39C, 39MS) Reno Jets 1 Jet Airbus A320neo Standard Airliners 2 Twin Jet Aviat Pitts S Series, (1C, 1E, 1S, 2A, 2S, S-LNH) Reno Propellers 1 Single Engine - Type II. Those are all of the configurations I have made to control the aircraft I possess. Toggle Brakes Regular (b) and Toggle Brakes Maxim (v) set the parking brakes. Thought some of you could find this useful. Something not quite right with the original XPUIPC folder (ver: 2.0.3.A while back I posted what I did as a workaround to this problem in your "Houston, we have a problem!" thread. If you're using a joystick with buttons, you can assign your left and right brakes to the buttons. No, a hold button is only operational as long as the button is held. I then found the following website where I could download a later version of the XPUIPC plugin (ver: 2.0.5.9), installed it in the Plugins folder and the problem was fixed:. I couldn't find much at all about this problem in any forums, so started by taking all of my plugins out of the C:\X-Plane 11\Resources\plugins folder and lo and behold, both the beacon and strobe lights worked perfectly no matter whether the brakes were on or off!Įventually by trial and error, I found the culprit to be the XPUIPC plugin and when I put all of my plugins back into the C:\X-Plane 11\Resources\plugins folder ( except the XPUIPC folder) everything worked as it should. This is what the default V (max) and B (reg) keys are set up to do. If I held the brakes on, then the beacon and strobe lights would work normally, but as soon as I released the brakes, both lights would be switched off!Īctivating the parking brake from within the cab or pressing the 'B' key on the keyboard, did not cause this problem? This 'general brake' also doubles as the parking brake, if used in the 'toggle' mode. I have button 11 on my Logitech 3D Pro joystick assigned as I dont want to move the view to that part of the instrument panel just to release it using the mouse. I'm not with Laminar Research, just a fellow simmer in the UK, but I was having exactly the same problem as you in the Cessna Skyhawk, Beechcraft Baron 58 and the King Air C90B.īasically whenever I depressed the joystick trigger to apply the brakes and then released it again, it would also somehow toggle the beacon and strobe light switches off. You can also assign a joystick button to set and release the parking brake.
